Speedway® Raises More than $1 Million for Lurie Children’s in 2021

Speedway, part of the 7-Eleven family of brands, raised more than $1 million last year to support the patients served at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. With the help of customers, vendors and associates, funds were raised throughout the Chicago and Northwest Indiana area to support Lurie Children’s, a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals).  Speedway’s generosity was honored March 10 with a private check presentation at the hospital.

“On the behalf of our patients and families, we’d like to express our gratitude to Speedway customers and associates whose every dollar helps all of us at Lurie Children’s realize our mission,” said T.J. Johnson, Vice-President of Corporate Partnerships for the Lurie Children’s Foundation.  “Their donations ensure that Lurie Children’s can continue to ensure access for every child, investment in research, and patient services that comfort families and provide peace of mind during the most trying moments of their lives.”

This milestone is the latest highlight in Speedway’s 30-year commitment to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which has resulted in more than $150 million raised to advance pediatric healthcare, improve individual patients’ health, and enhance local communities. Since 1991, Speedway has raised over $9 million for Lurie Children’s.

Speedway locations will continue fundraising for CMN Hospitals in 2022. Supporters can visit Speedway’s store locator to find a location where they can fuel miracles by giving gratitude and change kids’ health. Speedway holds the annual Speedway Miracle Tournament in Ohio, which raises over $2 million annually and has become one of the largest golf events benefiting CMN Hospitals.
