January & February Dance Marathon Recap

Cary-Grove High School Dance Marathon – January 18th

In their 4th year, the students raised over $14,000 – FTK! This year they increased the number of teams as well as the number of participants they had registered. In the fall, they also had their first annual ‘teacher torture’ that involved the whole school including the teachers. The students are excited to keep the momentum going next year!

LoyolaThon at Loyola University – February 22nd  

The students at Loyola University raised over $75,000 for the patients and families at Lurie Children’s.  This year, they started mentoring a high school program and raised over $21,000 on their fundraising push day.  Their safari themed event was a wild time FOR THE KIDS!

HuskieThon at Northern Illinois University – February 22nd

HuskieThon raised over $28,000 for Lurie Children’s during their 6-hour event. Their Candyland themed event engaged students from many different organizations on campus including Greek life and the nursing community which raised over $1,600!

Concordia University Dance Marathon – February 22nd  

The students at Concordia University raised over $26,000 in their 4th year! Last fall, they put in weeks planning the perfect fundraising push day and raised over $8,000 in one day.  They also worked to engage new groups on campus including the Men’s Football team. They are excited to keep growing their impact next year in their fifth year, for the kids.

Chicago Dance Marathon – February 22nd  

Chicago Dance Marathon, presented by Kin + Carta, the nation’s longest running city-wide program raised over $260,000 for the patients and families at Lurie Children’s. Chicago Dance Marathon is led by CMN Emerging Leaders of Chicago, a young professional board supporting Lurie Children’s.  The chairs and committee members of the committee gained new momentum to recruit corporate and community partners and engage previous participants throughout the year.
