Local Walmart and Sam’s Club Locations Celebrate Lurie Children’s
Last month, local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores ended their annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign to raise funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals, including Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers, and members have raised more than $23.5 million for Lurie Children’s since the partnership began. Last year, Walmart and Sam’s Club passed the $1 billion fundraising mark for CMN Hospitals in the U.S. and Canada, the largest amount raised for a nonprofit.
From June 10-July 7, over $590,000 was raised for Lurie Children’s by 112 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in the Chicagoland and northwest Indiana area. Money is raised primarily through a register campaign where customers and members contribute $1 or more when they checkout. Associates also fundraise in other ways including bake sales, in-store contests, and events, as shown below:
Many patient families from Lurie Children’s stopped in their local Walmart or Sam’s Club to thank associates throughout the 5 week campaign.
Thank you, Walmart and Sam’s Club for being For the Kids!
