Costco Wholesale September Campaign Raises $1.7 million for Lurie Children’s

Costco Wholesale’s Children’s Miracle Network Campaign, which is normally held each year in May, brought together 19 warehouses in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, one business center, three depot warehouses and the Midwest Regional Office in Oak Brook, Illinois to raise more than $1.7 million to support the Department of Family Services at Lurie Children’s.

Warehouse #370 in Merrillville, Indiana won both the Highest Fundraising Warehouse and Bracket Challenge Champion awards during the campaign – with an estimated total raised of $74,312. Special congrats to the full Merrillville team, as well as the fundraising runner ups, Niles and Naperville, and the bracket challenge runner ups, Schaumburg and Bedford Park.

Lurie Children’s is incredibly fortunate to receive support from three Costco Depots in Morris, Illinois, which collectively raised an estimated $43,318 for Lurie Children’s during the 2020 campaign. Additionally, the Midwest Regional Office in Oak Brook, Illinois held several different office-wide fundraisers, including an online raffle, caramel apple sales and many other fun initiatives!

Included in the $1.7 million total is over $1 million raised through Costco’s 19th Annual Midwest Golf Classic, which was held in September 2019. The 2019 total was the highest amount ever raised by this event and sets the stage for the 20th installment of the event slated for fall 2021. Congratulations to Megan McCoy and the event committee team on their incredible success with this event!

Costco Wholesale’s support for Lurie Children’s helps support the Department of Family Services, which provides support for patients and their families during treatment at Lurie Children’s. This includes things like Social Work, Art Therapy, Spiritual Services and Child Life. On behalf of all our Family Services team members, thank you to Costco for your invaluable support!
