Univision Moves for Kids

Univision, a proud partner of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, helped engage their listeners in our annual Move for Kids event.  Traditionally, Move for Kids, presented by Hub Group, is a free walk and rally for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. More than just a walk, Move for Kids is a day for our community to come together on behalf of the children we serve at Lurie Children’s.

This year, the event was turned into virtual challenges to allow the Chicago community to come together in support of the patients and families we serve at Lurie Children’s during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Throughout the weekend of May 15 – 17th, the Chicagoland community raised over $290,000 dollars for the Lurie Children’s COVID-19 Support Fund.  Every dollar raised helped to ensure that children have access to the healthcare they deserve, that our workforce remains safe and healthy and that we work with partners to secure the supplies required to deliver exceptional care.

Every year, a Lurie Children’s patient serves as the grand marshall of the walk.  They kick off the event sharing their story and taking the first steps at Move for Kids, the patient champion is our advocate, ambassador and inspiration.

When Alexis was diagnosed with a brain tumor his goal was to not just survive, but thrive. At Lurie Children’s, he received expert care and treatment from his team of surgeons, nurses, therapists and volunteers. Today, his goal is to become the President of the United States.

Alexis joined Entre Cafe Y Cafe con Vicky on Wednesday, May 13 leading into Move for Kids to inspire and share his journey at Lurie Children’s with Amor 106.7 listeners and supporters.
